Corporate Information
Starr Video is a dream come true for Michael and Vicky Strycharske. Tired
of the drudgery of corporate and office environments, they wanted to embark on a
more creative and satisfying endeavor. And so Starr Video was born in 2005
in Tampa, Florida.
Starting slow, the company has grown at a measrued pace allowing the Strycharskes
to learn the basics of the event videography business while polishing their talents.
Starr Video provides a balanced and varied selection of services ranging from event
projects such as weddings and birthdays to corporate and commercial video.
The Strycharskes are a potent team,
with Michael handling the technical side and Vicky taking charge of client management. Vicky
has become adept behind the camera and provides a creative counterpoint to Michael's
journalistic style. The company prides itself in its non-intrusive shooting methodology
allowing clients and their guests to enjoy the event without excessive direction or interaction
from the production team.
As a member of the Wedding and Event Videographers Association (WEVA), Starr Video adheres
to the ethical and professional standards of the organization. The company's underlying
philosophy of "Service Leadership" means Starr Video will exceed customer expectations or
the job is incomplete.
Co-Owner Bio
Michael Strycharske brings a strong photo journalistic background to the
company. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in broadcast journalism
and worked for 15 years for a varity of newspapers and television companies in New York. The
son of a documentary photographer, Michael has been looking through a camera lens since he
was 10 years old. He especially enjoys documentary work because it gets him out of the
office.
Following his journalism career in New York, Michael has worked as an Information Technology
professional for the past 10 years. He has held several management positions in both large
and small companies but found that he enjoyed the design of software solutions over the daily
management tasks that his job requried. He longed to get back to his photo and writing roots
because it "satisfies the soul more than writing code or managing software projects." In June
of 2006 Michael received his Masters of Science degree in Technology and Innovation Management
from the University of Tampa.
Never far from a camera, Michael has been actively working on a vareity of personal projects.
When not wielding a video or digital camera, Michael can often be found prowling the back roads
of Tampa on his Harley Davidson Low Rider. He is constantly searching for that perfect project
that will allow him to combine his love of motorcycling and videography.
Co-Owner Bio
Vicky Strycharske served for 25 years as a contract specialist for the U.S.
government, specializing in purchasing super secret gizmos for the Special Forces unit at MacDill
Air Force Base. When not operating a video camera or speaking with Starr Video clients, she
currently operates a consulting business - Starr Solutions - that helps small businesses do
business with government.
Vicky provides Starr Video customers with the support and direction they need when arranging
video coverage of their important, once-in-a-lifetime event. Her background in negotiation
and attention to details ensures that each project is handled with the unique attention it
deserves. Her deft, personal touch allows clients to concentrate on their family and guests
removing all worry and stress over the details of recording their important event.
