High Definition Video

There has been a lot said and written about High Definition Video (HDV)
and consequently there is a lot of confusion regarding this video format.
Starr Video Productions uses HDV format cameras to record all footage,
whether the final output will be High Definition (HD) or Standard
Definition (SD) video.
Most brides and other consumers of video services are much more concerned
with the quality of the image and the content of their project than the
format used to shoot the footage - and this is the way it should be.
Because we start with an HD image, even SD output will look better and
sharper on your television screen at home. And, should you wish to
receive an HD version of your video sometime in the future, we can provide
that because we archive your project in HD. High Definition video is
definitely the future of the industry and Starr Video has committed itself to
making the transition early in order to meet our client's needs and desires
when they are ready for HD.
Blu-Ray vs. HD DVD

Even more controversy surrounds the debate over the Blu-Ray and HD-DVD
disk formats for home players. Just as video tape formats Beta Max and
VHS battled for the hearts of consumers
in the early 1970's Blu-Ray and
HD-DVD are vying for your dollars now.
At this point there is no clear
cut winner as both formats have their pros and cons.
However, there are
combination now players available allowing early adopters to hedge their
bets.
Commercial movies are being converted to Blu-Ray and HD-DVD in ever
increasing numbers and DVD burners in both formats are now available to
consumers and video producers. Soon the inevitable critical mass will
be achieved and we will all be watching HD in one form or another.
